Fisky and LS arrived at 11am full of enthusiasm for their first outing of
the year. We were less enthusiastic but they convinced us that it would be
fun...
We rigged up 6.4 sails as when we got to the beach it was blowing a low end
4. LS and Fisky had smaller sails - Fisky's was a brand new 4.7.
We all had a great blast. Fisky and LS have really improved since the last
time we saw them sail. Fisky was really pleased with his new sail (and his
new board !!) and LS enjoyed getting some serious speed up.
I made some really good attempts at carve gybes - not planing out, but
nearly. I saved my best gybe for when Fisky was in the water acting as a
very nice gybe mark. I also managed to blast past LS whilst he was in the
water and spray him with a flick of the tail. It's good to sail with
friends :o)
Sarah claims she water-started after having stepped off in water that was
deeper than expected and then went on to plane away, and do her best gybe
yet - carving all the way round and managing to get planing within a second
or two of gybing - but I didn't see it - at least that's what I told her ;P
I did see her do some pretty good gybes though.
At the end of the session Sarah and I both had a go on Fisky's kit as the
wind had picked up. It's a really nice board and even better since we've
shown him how to adjust his footstraps. :)
Another great day at the beach.
